Contractors
Contractors are not required to register with the Township.
However, a Certificate of Insurance (COI) is required from every contractor that will be doing any work on the project. The COI needs to include the following in the Certificate Holder box: West Whiteland Township; 101 Commerce Drive; Exton, PA 19341.
Permit Applications

West Whiteland Township is now accepting all construction permit applications through electronic submission.

- Select the Permit Type in the drop-down box. The choices are Residential, Commercial, Exton Mall Fire Code, Fire Operational, Re-Roof, Shed, Fence, Temporary Zoning, and Commercial Resale, Change in Owner, Change in Use.
- Type in a summary of the project within the ‘Description of Work’.
- Type in the address location in the rectangle in the ‘Map Location’ which will automatically populate other relevant property information.
- Select all the appropriate choices in the ‘Type of Work’ box. You will then need to include all information for each contractor.
- Lastly, there is a box to attach documents and/or files prior to submitting the application.
- There are several boxes marked with an asterisk that are required fields to enable the submit button to work.
The application process does not time out. The information will be saved so the user can pick up where they left off prior to submitting.
Applicants will be sent their approved permits via email which will still include the appropriate fee. Payments can be made online or with a check.
Paper applications will no longer be accepted.
