Energy Transfer (ET) will be completing regular maintenance work on the cathodic protection system (technique used to control the corrosion of a metal surface) on the out of service 12” pipeline. Their third-party contractor will excavate both ends of Valley View Road to expose the casing and pipeline. Maintenance may include cutting back the casing, or welding on a casing extension to center the carrier pipe in the casing. Once the pipeline is exposed the crew will complete their work and restore the area.
While the maintenance work is underway, there will be a lane restriction with flaggers on site to make sure there is a steady and safe flow of traffic. The worksite will be steel plated and secured at the end of each workday. The crew plans to mobilize to the worksite on November 27th, weather and other factors pending. This work could take up to two weeks to be completed.
ET has notified impacted landowners where the work is taking place. A letter to the remaining residents on the cul-de-sac next week will go out ahead of the work which will include a community phone number in the event residents have any questions about the maintenance work.
