As you know, West Whiteland Township uses a Pay-As-You-Throw program for curbside pickup of your trash. The Township has sent out a survey which will hit your mailboxes next week. The Board of Supervisors wants to hear from each household on the program. Households place their trash in WWT trash bags and pay the following:
• $89 annual fee which includes weekly recycling, one bulk item each week, and ten (10) yard waste collections
• $2.50 for each WWT trash bag. All trash must be placed in these bags.
Under the PAYT program, these fees are not set to increase for the remainder of the current hauler contract, which is in place until 2025. The Township has received feedback about the PAYT program and about the service we have been receiving from our hauler, AJ Blosenski. We take these opinions seriously and therefore have decided to survey our PAYT participants to understand the preference to continue the trash bag program or change to a more traditional one. Generally speaking, we would conduct the survey at the end of our current contract (2025). However, due to the amount of feedback, we are working with the hauler to re-assess the system mid-contract. Going to bid for a new hauler right now would be cost-prohibitive, due to inflationary increases across the industry.
Please click here to take this quick survey online. Alternatively, you may complete the paper survey and return it to the Township building no later than October 15, 2022.
Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. If you have questions, please email email@example.com. If you have comments regarding the system, please include them in the survey.
