Some members of the Pay-As-You-Throw (PAYT) curbside pick-up program have experienced delays recently with trash & recycling being picked up. We wanted to provide some information regarding circumstances that are leading to instances of waste not being collected.
As with many other industries right now, there is a labor shortage in waste collection. Our hauler, AJ Blosenski, is actively hiring and training new employees. It is expected that the missed collections will decrease as their staff increases and new employees get up to speed. Meanwhile, the staff at AJ Blosenski has been very responsive to resident requests. You may call Bloskenski directly at 610-942-2707 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
There are things that you can do to help, as residents. Members of the PAYT program must place all trash in Township trash bags. The hauler will not pick up trash in any other type of bag or container. Collectors are trained to look for these Township trash bags. When bags are placed in other containers or totes, they may be missed by the hauler. Please place your Township trash bags at the curb where they are in plain sight and not placed in another container.
