[ARCHIVED] Halloween is Fast Approaching!

West Whiteland Township does not regulate whether or when trick-or-treating takes place.  Each family decides whether to participate.  The standard practice is to keep your front light on if you are giving out candy and to turn it off if you are not.  Coordinate with your neighbors or homeowners’ association if you wish to set specific times for trick-or-treating.

This year, the CDC recommends modifying how trick-or-treating takes place or considering other activities to lower the risk of spreading COVID-19 while still giving kids the chance to have fun.  The Township encourages residents who participate in trick-or-treating to follow the CDC recommendations.  For even more information, go to the Harvard Global Health Institute’s Halloween 2020 website. They paired the CDC’s recommendations with mapping of COVID-19 cases by county to develop Halloween activities tailored to local risk.

We wish everyone a happy and healthy Halloween.
