Township supervisors are seeking candidates to fill a vacant position on the Board of Supervisors, following the resignation of Dr. Joseph Denham. The Board formally accepted Joe's resignation at the public meeting on January 2, 2018. Joe, who served as supervisor for four years, resigned for personal reasons.
Under state law, the two remaining members of the Board must appoint a replacement by the end of January. This individual will serve the remaining two years of the vacant seat until the next municipal election in November 2019. Since the Board of Supervisors recently went through a public interview and appointment process to fill a supervisor vacancy, Supervisors Michele Moll and Theresa Santalucia intend to start by reviewing the candidacies of applicants who participated in that process. They plan to announce their appointment at the January 24th Board of Supervisors meeting, which begins at 6:30 p.m.
To be eligible to serve as a Supervisor, one must be a Township resident for a minimum of one year and be a registered voter. All interested and qualified candidates should submit a letter of interest and resume to Mimi Gleason, Township Manager, at mgleason@westwhiteland.org by Monday, January 8.
