[ARCHIVED] Board Heard Billboard Proposal

On September 13, 2017 the Board of Supervisors and public observed a presentation conducted by Catalyst Outdoor proposing an electronic billboard message center at the northwest corner of Pottstown Pike and Township Line Road. Catalyst has submitted an application to amend the Township’s Zoning Ordinance to permit billboards on the property since the current zoning allows only commercial retail and office uses only. The current property is occupied by a long-vacant building that, many years ago, was a popular farm market.  Catalyst is proposing to demolish the current building and replace it with a new structure that will accommodate a new farm market. The second level exterior of the market will include two 12x40 foot electronic billboards, one on each side of the structure facing northbound and southbound traffic. The proposed billboards will not use standard digital technologies, but will use SMD LED modules with sight-line technology to decrease brightness.

Catalyst has provided the following video link to illustrate their proposal. https://vimeo.com/212812871/8e07f2f03b

Catalyst representatives will be back before the Board later this year to present additional finding requested by the Board and Public and demonstrate visual representation of the proposed billboards.
