At the Board of Supervisors (BOS) meeting on November 13 at 6:30 pm, a hearing will be held to consider changing lands in the southeast portion of the Township (the Weston Tract) to R-1 (Residential) from O/L (Office/Laboratory). In 2023, the BOS considered a proposal to make this map change, but it also sought to amend the R-1 district regulations to allow for higher density residential development. By and large, many community members supported the Zoning Map change but opposed allowing greater density. The BOS voted against those changes but indicated that they were open to amending the Zoning Map.
Accordingly, the hearing on November 13, 2024 is to receive public comment about amending the Zoning Map. This new proposed amendment will not change the permitted density or any other part of the text of the Zoning Ordinance.
