The PA Department of Environmental Protection issued a permit to Energy Transfer to address exposed pipes in the stream near Shoen Road. Energy Transfer will remove a capped and grouted pipe that is not in operation and bury beneath the stream a pipe next to it that carries petroleum between Montello and Icedale. From August 21-24, pumps may be in operation 24 hours a day, which is necessary temporarily to complete the work. The project is expected to be completed in September.
