Recent upgrades at the Chester Valley Trail (CVT) crossing of Ship Road will improve safety for trail users and vehicle traffic.
- Installed passive detection for trail users which will automatically turn on the warning lights
- Thermal detection was installed rather than the standard video detection. This will provide more consistent detection of trail users.
- Supplemental signage at the crossing to further enhance awareness at the crossing
- Converted the overhead warning lights from rectangular rapid flash beacons to standard 12” diameter flashing lights
