Zoning Hearing Board
The Zoning Hearing Board conducts hearings to consider requests for relief from requirements of the Township Zoning Ordinance in the form of variances, and makes decisions on challenges to the findings of the Zoning Officer, and challenges to the validity of the Zoning Ordinance or map and Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance.
Applicants must fill out an application prior to appearing before the Zoning Hearing Board. When applicants submit an application to the Township, the following items are required in order to deem the application complete. The Township will not accept incomplete applications.
- A completed Zoning Hearing Board application
- A check made out to “West Whiteland Township” for the Township review fees (see Fees page, page 11, in the Guidelines to determine the amount of the fee).
- Eight (8) complete copies of the plan drawings, where provided.
The Hearing date shall be held within sixty (60) days from the date of the completed application submittal unless the applicant has agreed in writing to a time extension.
A decision shall be rendered within forty-five (45) days after the hearing is concluded.
